Imam Ashour continues to shine… He returned Al-Ahly to the top of the league

Emam Ashour scored two goals in the second half to lead Al-Ahly to a 2-0 victory over its guest El Gouna, strengthening its lead in the Egyptian Premier League on Wednesday.
Ashour opened the scoring in the 63rd minute after the visiting team’s defense failed to clear the ball after successful pressure from Al-Ahly players. Ahmed Nabil (Koka) took possession of it and passed it to Mohamed Magdy (Afsha), who prepared it directly for his colleague Ashour, who in turn fired a perfect shot into the net.
The playmaker continued his brilliance, adding the second goal in stoppage time after Karim Al-Dabis sent a cross pass that Ashour received and turned it directly into the net.
Thus, Ashour scored five goals in the last two matches with Al-Ahly, after scoring a hat-trick in a 3-1 win over hosts ASEC Abidjan from Ivory Coast in the African Champions League.
Goalkeeper Mustafa Schubert participated from the beginning, with captain Mohamed El-Shenawy sitting on the bench.
With this victory, Al-Ahly raised its score to 18 points in the lead, one point ahead of Pyramids, while El-Gouna’s score froze at six points in penultimate place.
