UAE and India are looking for new mechanisms to develop bilateral cooperation in the tourism and hospitality sectors

Abu Dhabi, April 28 / WAM / His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri, Minister of Economy, Chairman of the Emirates Tourism Council, confirmed that the UAE and the Republic of India, thanks to the directives and vision of the rational leadership in the two friendly countries, are gathered by firm strategic relations based on cooperation and economic integration.
He pointed out that the past period witnessed an unprecedented growth in the volume of tourist delegations, which reflects the depth of human and cultural ties between the two peoples, and confirms the position of tourism as one of the vital engines to enhance the comprehensive economic partnership between them, which opens wide horizons for developing innovative tourism products and services that meet the aspirations of visitors, and enhances the sector’s contribution to supporting sustainable growth of both economies.
This came during a bilateral meeting that brought together His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq, and His Excellency Gajndra Singh Chichawat, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of India, where the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the tourism and hospitality sectors, support mutual tourism flows and support economic growth in the two countries.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq said that India is an economic and tourist partner for the UAE, and tourism plays a focus and essential role in establishing this partnership, and we are working to develop bilateral cooperation in the areas of sustainable, curative and cultural tourism, adventure tourism and shopping and conference tourism, which reflects positively on economic and development growth in both countries.
The meeting witnessed the exchange of views between the Emirati and Indian sides on new mechanisms for cooperation between the authorities concerned with the tourism sector, and encouraging sustainable tourism projects between the two countries, and benefiting from the possibilities and opportunities provided by the two countries, especially in infrastructure and logistical services supporting the promotion of tourism exchange, and the meeting also touched on the importance of continuing work and coordination between the concerned authorities in the two countries to increase the flow of tourism movement between the two regions, considering the Emirates India is two gates to support the global tourism movement.
The tourism sector is a basic pillar in the growing economic relations between the UAE and India, where India is one of the five largest markets for tourism to the UAE, with the country receiving more than two million Indian tourists annually, and the air traffic between the UAE and India is witnessing continuous growth of 555 flights per week through UAE airlines, which reflects the strong interdependence between the two countries, and pushes more growth in the tourism sector between the tourism sector between The two countries are in the next stage.
