President of the World Future Energy Summit: The 2025 edition exceeded expectations

ABU DHABI, 16 JANUARY / WAM / Lynn Al Sibai, President of the World Future Energy Summit and General Manager of RX Middle East, confirmed that the seventeenth edition of the Summit, which concludes its activities today, witnessed an exceptional success that exceeded expectations, as it achieved an 11% increase in The number of attendees according to preliminary indicators, compared to expectations, as well as compared to the exceptional 2023 edition.
Al-Sibai explained in statements to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, during the activities of the last day of the summit, that this achievement reflects the growing global interest in innovation and sustainability, which strengthens the summit’s position as a leading platform in the energy and climate sector.
Al-Sibai pointed out that the summit this year attracted wide participation at the level of international pavilions, with 11 international pavilions participating from around the world, and achieved a 40% increase in the number of exhibitors, who represented more than 60 countries.
She noted that the exhibition area was expanded to 35,000 square metres, providing an ideal platform to showcase the latest innovations and technologies in the fields of energy and sustainability.
She said that the most prominent features of the summit this year was the remarkable female representation in the conferences and accompanying events. The summit hosted more than 350 leading speakers, 40% of whom were women, which she described as a great achievement in a traditional sector that suffers from a lack of gender balance.
She added that support for women at the summit was not limited to representation in conferences, but rather extended to include the “CLIX” program, which is an initiative that supports green ideas and innovation in the field of sustainability and the environment.
Al-Sibai pointed out that the program focused this year on women’s startups, as a space was allocated to showcase the innovations of female entrepreneurs, which reflects the summit’s commitment to empowering women and enhancing their role in the energy sector.
In a step that reflects the development of the summit and its keeping pace with modern technologies, Al-Sibai revealed the launch of a new version of the program under the title “Clicks for Artificial Intelligence,” which highlighted innovations based on artificial intelligence to address climate challenges.
Al-Sibai described this addition as a qualitative leap in promoting innovation and sustainability, noting that this year the program witnessed the introduction of the investment component for the first time.
She explained that the participating female entrepreneurs had the opportunity to present their innovative projects to international investors, which allowed them to access funding that would help transform their ideas into realistic projects that contribute to addressing climate challenges.
Al-Sibai highlighted the importance of the partnerships established by the summit this year, pointing to the cooperation with the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerator (UICCA), which contributed through the participation of a number of its startups.
The first day also witnessed the organization of an “Innovation Day” in cooperation with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), which was held for the first time in Abu Dhabi.
Al-Sibai stressed that this event constituted a unique platform to showcase the latest innovative technologies in the renewable energy sector.
Al Sibai described the summit as a “vibrant event,” which witnessed broad and active participation from exhibitors, visitors and participants.
She stressed that the summit was a comprehensive platform that combined advanced technological presentations, intellectual discussions, and investment opportunities, which contributed to achieving the maximum benefit for all attendees.
