Captain of the Engineers Syndicate: Egypt has paid great attention to the issue of new and renewable energy and harnessing its natural potential to develop this system
The activities of the Second Arab Conference on Renewable and Sustainable Energy, organized by the Syndicate of Engineers, were launched. The Egyptian Federation, in cooperation with the Union of Arab Engineers, in the presence of Engineer Tariq Al-Nabrawy – Captain of the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate and Vice President of the Arab Engineers Union, and Engineer Mahmoud Hamed Arafat – Secretary General of the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate Chairman of the conference organizing committee, Dr. Eng. Adel Al-Hadithi – Secretary General of the Union of Arab Engineers, and Dr. Eng. Naji Hussein Al-Maghrabi – Chairman of the Union’s Energy Committee. At the beginning of his speech at the conference, Engineer Tariq Al-Nabrawi saluted the people of Gaza for their steadfastness for 15 months in the face of the Zionist extermination campaign, which did not… History bears witness An extermination campaign like no other except in the Japanese Hiroshima and Nazi incidents in World War II.
He said that the conference brings together an elite group of Arab and international minds and expertise to discuss one of the most important issues of the era: renewable and sustainable energy and its future, noting that the world today is witnessing A fundamental shift towards the use of renewable energy sources, a shift imposed by many challenges, saying: “Fossil fuels, which we have relied on for many decades, are approaching depletion and their prices are increasing rapidly, in addition to the environmental impacts.” “The negativity it causes, which makes the need to switch to clean energy an imperative necessity to ensure a safe and sustainable future for future generations.” “Al-Nabrawi” explained: Egypt has paid great attention to this vital issue, as it works to harness its natural potential to develop the renewable energy system. For decades, the High Dam has been a landmark in the use of clean energy, as it is considered one of the largest renewable energy generators in the world, along with other projects such as Aswan Reservoir 1 and 2, adding: “In recent years, Egypt has made great leaps in this field. Among the most promising projects are the Benban solar energy station, which is considered one of the largest solar energy stations in the world, and the Abydos solar energy station project, which adds another building block to our efforts in generating clean energy and others,” stressing that these projects are not only a source of energy, but also a certificate. We are committed to protecting the environment and advancing sustainable development.
The Captain of the Engineers Syndicate indicated that Egypt is also working to enhance the use of wind energy, and has ambitious projects along the Red Sea coast, as this site is considered among the best sites in the world for generating energy from Wind, stressing that Egypt’s investments in renewable energy do not stop only at achieving self-sufficiency in energy, but also include strengthening its position as a regional energy center, capable of exporting clean energy to its neighbors and partners, and that renewable energy is not just a technical or economic option; Rather, it is a moral and civilizational commitment towards future generations. It represents the promise of a cleaner and more just future, where development is not limited to specific countries or peoples, but rather is a shared right for all humanity. The Head of the Engineers Syndicate concluded his speech by calling on the conference participants to exchange ideas and experiences, and to cooperate jointly to develop effective strategies that support the future of renewable energy in our Arab world, saying: “We are here today to work on building a green and sustainable future for future generations.” In turn, Engineer Mahmoud Arafat stressed that relying on renewable energy is not a luxury, but rather an inevitable necessity imposed by environmental and economic changes. The world faces huge challenges with regard to climate change and the depletion of natural resources, but amid these challenges, a great opportunity and a sustainable solution emerge before us, which is renewable energy.
The Secretary General of the Engineers Syndicate opened his speech by welcoming the attendees to the distinguished conference that brings together an elite group of experts and specialists in the field of renewable and sustainable energy, saying: " Your presence today reflects interest and appreciation for the issues that will be discussed, and contributes to achieving our common goals.. I am honored to be with you today to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing our Arab world in this file,” indicating that we are in an era in which climate change is accelerating and whose tragedies are embodied before our eyes during these days in the form of In the horrific fires in the state of California, we are not far from these extreme climate changes, as they have affected most of the countries of the world in the form of fires, floods, devastating earthquakes, and an increase in Rates of desertification, deadly heat waves, and decreasing rainfall, make it necessary for us to search for innovative and sustainable solutions to meet our energy needs without harming the planet on which we live. Arafat explained, “Solar energy, wind energy, and others all represent abundant, clean, and sustainable sources that we can rely on.” What distinguishes these sources is not only that they are environmentally friendly, but also their ability to achieve energy independence and self-sufficiency in Arab countries and reduce costs in the long term, adding: " We need to invest in scientific research, develop technology, and strengthen joint Arab cooperation at the levels of governments, the private sector and civil society, in addition to building community awareness of the importance of renewable energy is an essential step to achieving the required transformation,” he continued: “ Renewable energy means independence; Independent of fossil fuels that exhaust our resources and destroy our planet. It means innovation; Creating new solutions that turn the sun, wind, and even our waste into sources of power that drive development forward. It means safety; “Environmentally and economically secure, avoiding the disasters of pollution and climate change.” Arafat stressed: However, change will not happen by wishful thinking. It requires a strong will, concerted efforts, serious Arab cooperation, and large investments in research and development and educational institutions that produce a generation that believes in sustainable solutions, and leaders who see renewable energy as the future of their economies and people. He pointed out that in this regard, the energy file is important. Renewable energy is one of the issues that Egypt has given great attention to in an effort to diversify energy sources, as the “Egyptian political leadership” believes This is one of the strategic tributaries that effectively contribute to enhancing the concept of energy security. Therefore, the trend was to establish giant solar energy stations, including the “Benban Solar Energy” station. In Aswan Governorate, and the expansion of wind stations such as the Gabal El-Zeit and Al-Zafarana stations. Arafat confirmed: However, we are facing an important opportunity to shape a promising future for future generations, a future in which reliance on renewable energy is an integral part of our daily lives, saying: " Let us work together to develop policies, adopt innovations, and strengthen partnerships to achieve the goals of this conference.” At the end of his speech, Engineer Mahmoud Arafat thanked the conference participants, expressing his aspiration for fruitful discussions, inspiring ideas, and constructive visions that contribute to achieving a common vision. For his part, Dr. Engineer Adel Al-Hadithi said: “It is our duty, now that victory has been achieved through the steadfastness of our people in Gaza, to offer our salutes to them and to its martyrs and to the martyrs of Lebanon and Yemen, and that it is a moral, religious and humanitarian duty on the Arab governments, especially the rich, to compensate Gaza for what it witnessed and hasten to restore “Reconstruct it.” The Secretary-General of the Union praised the effort made by the organizing committee of the conference to come up with this format that honors Arab engineers, stressing that the choice to discuss the issue of renewable and sustainable energy came at a time when solidarity and cooperation must be achieved between all Arab countries in this field.
p>Al-Hadithi stressed that the Arab world is full of scientists and engineers who are skilled in benefiting from all natural resources such as the sun, water and wind, and this conference is a good opportunity to exchange visions and ideas, hoping to come out of it with recommendations that will come back to fruition. For the benefit of our Arab nation, while Dr. Engineer Naji Hussein Al-Maghrabi confirmed that holding this conference, organized by the Almeria Engineers Syndicate in cooperation with the Arab Engineers Union It reflects the joint commitment to strengthen cooperation in the field of new and sustainable energy, to reach a brighter future, saying: " Our role is not limited to discussing solutions, but rather includes strengthening the opinion of specialists and creating a joint Arab strategy.” The "Moroccan" Thanks to the Engineers Syndicate and the Federation of Arab Engineers for their great efforts in organizing this successful conference, expressing his aspiration to crown these efforts with success.
