Yahya Khaled: The Denmark match in the 2021 World Cup raised the ceiling of our ambitions and changed our goals
The International Handball Federation published a long interview with the Egyptian national team star, Yehia Khaled, the right back of the Egyptian handball team, to talk about his fourth participation in the World Handball Championship.
Yahya Khaled appeared For the first time in the 2017 World Championship when he was 19 years old, he scored once.
Yahya Khaled said: After the victory over Bahrain yesterday: This What we came for. We knew that the first two matches, with all respect, would be easier than the third match (against Croatia), so we just wanted to regain our fitness and maintain the rhythm of the tournament.
He added: It is always the case. Difficult at the beginning, so it was good for us to play the first two games at this level where we can play with everyone and integrate all the players together, so that we can all gain our chemistry in the next rounds.
He continued: These victories give us a lot of confidence. It will be a big match against Croatia, because they are playing on their home soil, and we know how they play. They are a strong team, but we will be ready for that.
Yahya Khaled spoke about the Egyptian national team’s match against Denmark in the 2021 World Championship, in (the quarter-finals of the 2021 Men’s World Football Championship), saying: : Since this match we have never gone into the tournament thinking that we would not win it. Earlier we were accustomed to only looking at the group stage. And now we are looking for what comes next.
He continued: Even if this does not happen, it is a goal we have in mind.
Yahya Khaled talked about his move to Paris Saint-Germain, saying: This is really wonderful because I needed this new motivation.. I needed to play in new arenas. It’s always my biggest motivation.
Regarding the difference between wearing the Egyptian national team shirt for the first time and participating with the national team now, he said: It’s a big responsibility, but it gets better every time.< /p>
As you know, at first I was happy to be in the national team and then I became happy to play a role, but now, you are leading the team and the bigger your role with the national team, the better.
