Qassim Health Council launches the “Advanced Diabetes” project to reduce diabetes complications

The project aims to serve 300 patients per month in the first phase, with plans to expand in the future to increase absorptive capacity. The project relies on an integrated care model, where periodic examinations for patients with type 2 diabetes are conducted in the health center by the family medicine team, and these examinations include periodic laboratory tests. Periodic examination of the feet, and smart screening for retinopathy using advanced medical technologies.
The Qassim Assembly indicated that the project aims to early detect diabetes complications, improve control of sugar levels through integrated treatment plans, and reduce the number of medical visits by integrating health services into unified stations, which contributes to facilitating the patient’s treatment journey and achieving the best health results.
