Saud Medical: 200,000 medical rehabilitation sessions during the year 2024

King Saud Medical City, a member of the first Riyadh Health Cluster, recorded more than 200,000 medical rehabilitation sessions during the past calendar year, as patients were referred from all clinics and other medical departments. This comes within the city’s ongoing commitment to providing distinguished health care and achieving a better quality of life. For patients through the latest medical technologies and services. Al-Madina confirmed that the Medical Rehabilitation Center witnessed the opening of specialized clinics, including the Spinal Muscular Atrophy Clinic, the Cardiac Rehabilitation Clinic in its second phase, the Children’s Clinic, and the Pain Clinic. And voice disorders, in addition to the amputee clinic, which includes all rehabilitation specialties, and the sports injuries clinic.

She explained that new services have been developed, including designing cosmetic limbs for patients with upper and lower limbs, using alternative means of communication with inpatients in the speech department, and launching a hotline to support patients with swallowing difficulties to ensure rapid communication with patients and their families.

She indicated that the physical therapy department provided more than 92,000 treatment sessions, while about 23,854 occupational therapy sessions were conducted, and more than 34,000 therapeutic visits were conducted using rehabilitation techniques, while the number of physical medicine sessions reached about 22,246 sessions, and 14,000 treatment sessions were conducted to serve speech disorders. And 15,000 sessions to treat swallowing disorders. This achievement reflects the pioneering role of King Saud Medical City in the field of medical rehabilitation in the Kingdom, and its continuous endeavor to develop the level of health services.
