The Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Manan Al Awar, revealed that about 75% to 85% of male students who completed the National Service Program enrolled in higher education.

He explained that expectations indicate that this percentage will rise by about 13% after removing some previous obstacles, approving new educational policies, and amending the university admission system.

In detail, Al-Awar confirmed, during his response to a question from Member Hashima Yasser Al-Afari about “the enrollment of young males in higher education after graduating from high school,” in the Federal National Council session today, that the Ministry has brought about positive, sustainable change by amending admission policies in institutions. Strengthening the role of educational institutions

He said: “Registration in the unified admission system has been opened for citizen students from the eleventh grade, and registration is made available throughout the year, to enhance the role of educational institutions and schools in supporting the student in taking his educational and professional path,” stressing that the Ministry gives every citizen, male and female, an opportunity for university education according to educational paths. He pointed to the work of the Ministry of Higher Education to create initiatives, policies and work mechanisms that support awareness of scientific and professional paths in the labor market, complete integration between educational institutions with the labor market, activate this system in the field, and activate the role of schools and encourage them to provide this information in coordination with higher education institutions.
