المملكة: Mandatory training for higher education students for a period of 6 months within the capacity development program

The program aims to invest in and develop national competencies by aligning educational outcomes with the needs of the labor market, ensuring skills development and qualification, supporting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, and consolidating national values and pride in the Arabic language as the basis of national identity.
The program also aims to build a sustainable and prosperous economy that relies on national cadres capable of leading the future.
The education and training sector participates in achieving 14 out of 16 strategic goals within the human capacity development program, which include raising the quality of the educational process and improving its outcomes, achieving the readiness of young men and women to enter the labor market, and strengthening links between educational institutions and employers.
Within this framework, the Ministry launched a field training initiative for male and female students of higher education, which aims to train students for a period of 6 months before graduating from the stages of higher education, whether in bachelor’s or diploma programs.
The initiative aims to raise students’ readiness to keep pace with the requirements of the labor market by allocating 10% of the study plan for bachelor’s programs and 20% of the study plan for diploma programs. The initiative works to enable students to hone their scientific and practical skills, and better prepare them for future changes in the labor market.
An effective policy for mandatory training
The initiative includes developing an effective policy for compulsory training, while providing incentives that encourage employers to participate in the program, in partnership with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. The initiative focuses on jobs with increasing demand, while providing internal training opportunities within national institutions, in addition to international external training opportunities, which contributes to developing skills and enhancing national competencies..
Mandatory training at 10 universities
The initiative targets all male and female students of higher education at the bachelor’s and diploma levels, as mandatory training programs are implemented in 10 universities and educational institutions, with an average number of training days appropriate for each stage.
The initiative works to empower graduates with the skills to deal with others and develop their cultural awareness in real work environments, which contributes to improving their chances of success in the labor market after graduation, and increasing their readiness to contribute to economic and social development..
Through this initiative, the Ministry of Education seeks to enhance the quality of the educational process and raise the competitiveness of higher education outcomes at the local and international levels.
Building sustainable partnerships
It also aims to build sustainable partnerships between educational institutions and the labor market, in a way that enhances the chances of graduates’ success and achieves integration between theoretical and applied education.
These efforts reflect the Ministry’s commitment to developing the higher education system in line with the aspirations of the wise leadership and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, to build a vibrant society, a prosperous economy, and an ambitious nation..
