The first comment from Adel Taarabt after terminating his contract with Al-Nasr

Former Al-Nasr player and captain Adel Taarabt published his first statement following the club’s board of directors’ decision to terminate his contract by mutual consent after two and a half seasons he spent with the team.

Taarabt said in a post on his official account on the social networking site “Instagram”: “I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the management of Al-Nasr Club, to my fellow players, to the technical and administrative staff, and to all the workers in the large Al-Nasr family for the support and encouragement that I received during the last period.”

Taarabt had stopped training with the team three days ago and did not attend Al-Nasr’s match with Al-Ain, which ended with Al-Ameed losing 1-4 in the 13th round of the league, which sparked widespread controversy about the existence of a crisis between the player and the club.

Al-Nasr Club said in an official statement: “It has been agreed between Al-Nasr Football Company and the player Adel Taarabt to terminate the employment contract concluded between them by mutual consent. Taarabt played 55 league matches with Al-Nasr since joining the team in the 2022-2023 season, during which he scored 21 goals and contributed to leading the team to the final match of the President’s Cup last season before losing to Al-Wasl, in addition to achieving the UAE-Qatari Super Cup a few days ago. He also played 11 matches this season, during which he scored seven goals and made three assists, and was one of the most important players on the team.
