Today, the second edition of the Islamic Arts Biennial, which is held under the title “What is between them”, opened today, in the western pilgrims hall at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.

It also provides unique visions on how cultures continue in light of the transformations taking place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today, and their close association with the global framework.
The Qur’anic verse expresses “and what is between them”, which was mentioned in several places in the Holy Qur’an, as God Almighty says: {God who created the heavens, the earth, and what is between them}, when God’s creation as the person realizes and feels it, through five halls that are presented more than 500 artifacts, In the Biennial of Islamic Arts, 2025 is explored that man seeks to understand the beauty and splendor of what the Creator created.

The Biennial includes contemporary artworks for more than 30 artists from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Gulf states and various parts of the world, and this participation includes 29 new artworks commissioned by the Biennale Diriyah Foundation, which reflects the efforts of the Foundation to provide a global platform for Saudi artists, and attract artists from all over the world to the Kingdom, so that the audience can be able to Interacting with artistic practices and destinations that look at contemporary art.

What is the division of Islamic arts?

The Biennial of Islamic Arts consists of seven unique sections “the beginning, the orbit, the sacred, the shadow, the honored, the enlightened, and the serum”, distributed through exhibition halls and external areas, which extend over an area of ​​100,000 square meters, where the general scene of the exhibition was designed through the International Architecture Company OMA.
In addition, the Biennial provides a cultural program that includes a series of events that take place throughout the exhibition period, including lectures, workshops, community initiatives, and seminars, as well as the opening programs for this general include initiatives such as “Biennial after School” and “Biennial after work”, which invite children and adults To explore the arts through applied workshops within a week, which enhances creativity and meditation.
The research area is also returned in the year 2025 under the title “Tarq: The diversity of food practices”, a four -day session, exploring the diversity of nutritional practices in the Arab world. Deepening more in the art world.
It is noteworthy that the activities of the cultural program are held in the Western pilgrims hall in the city of Jeddah, and provides a comprehensive and flexible space for learning, dialogue, and cultural exchange.
