Abdul Rahman Al -Balushi: The UAE continues to develop its institutional system in a way that contributes to promoting and protecting human rights

Abu Dhabi, January 28/ WAM/ His Excellency Judge Abdel Rahman Murad Al -Balushi, Assistant Undersecretary for International Cooperation and Legal Affairs in the Ministry of Justice, confirmed that during the past four years, the UAE has adopted an interconnected and integrated system of national policies and strategies that seek to enhance and ensure the enjoyment of human rights and basic freedoms, the most important of them “The National Plan on Women, Peace and Security” aimed at achieving the effective participation of women in the prevention of conflict, “national policy for the elderly”, “gender balance strategy 2026”, “National Policy for Empowerment of Women 2031”, “National Policy for Irrigation” and ” The National Family Policy “,” Family Protection Policy “,” The National Food Security Strategy 2051 “and” Emirates 2071 Centennial “, which constitutes a long -term government work program.

His Excellency in the Emirates News Agency (WAM) dialogue said that the UAE issued since its review of its first periodic report October 2019 a series of national legislation, pointing to its continued efforts to enhance and develop its institutional system in a way that contributes to promoting and protecting human rights.
Regarding the UAE’s contribution to enhancing the position of women and their empowerment in society and the achievements they achieved in this field, the assistant undersecretary for the international cooperation sector and legal affairs in the Ministry of Justice explained that the UAE continues with a steady pace for its efforts in this regard, as women in the UAE assume the highest political, executive and legislative positions, and are present in Various positions of the High Command related to strategies and decision -making and stressed that it is the culmination of these efforts, the UAE ranked seventh globally and the first regionally in the gender equality index of 2024 issued by the United Nations Development Program.
And on the role played by the Arab Charter for Human Rights in promoting human rights in the Arab countries and how the UAE supports this role
His Excellency stressed the UAE’s support for the important role played by the committee as a mechanism that was able, within a short period and through its distinguished contributions and activities, enriching Arab work within the framework of the League of Arab States, through its constructive contribution to reviewing the Arab Human Rights Strategy, and its follow -up to implement and implement the articles of the Arab Charter in this regard .

On the announcement of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, to allocate in 2025 to be the “year of society” in the UAE and the role of this in enhancing the cohesion of family and society in the UAE and the expected initiatives in this context stressed that the declaration of 2025 “the year of society It reflects the priorities of the UAE during the next stage, which is led by the consolidation of the cohesion of society and the enhancement of its bonds, explaining that the family represents the basic incubator and the nucleus of a coherent and forgiving homeland that all its members enjoy luxury and stability. Cooperation, belonging, and providing an environment that prevails in justice, truth, dignity, and human reassurance to his rights.
The Assistant Undersecretary for the International Cooperation Sector and Legal Affairs in the Ministry of Justice noted that the “General Society” initiative is based on encouraging all those who consider the UAE a homeland to contribute to the active contribution to society through community service, volunteering, and influential initiatives, which is a matter of equality, and promotion The shared responsibility that in turn enhances respect for cultural diversity, which is considered a human rights feature.
