Experts and officials discuss strengthening national identity during a forum "Emirates thinkers"

Abu Dhabi, January 29 / WAM / Experts and officials discussed in the second edition of the “Emirates thinkers” forum, which held yesterday, the importance of enhancing the Emirati national identity and ways to deal with future challenges.
Participants dealt with the role of youth in achieving the UAE Vision 2071, stressing the need to integrate technology and artificial intelligence in the areas of sustainable development.
They stressed the importance of continuous education and developing skills to meet the needs of the labor market, while calling for the solidarity of national efforts to achieve the goals of the Emirates.
His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, during his participation in the first session entitled “Emirates AI 2031”, stressed that the UAE has become a major destination for international companies in the field of renewable energy.
His Excellency pointed out that the state seeks to invest in huge data centers to support the development of sustainable transport solutions, noting that the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure focuses on reducing excessive energy consumption and reducing carbon emissions using electric cars, with the aim of building clean and sustainable future cities.
He explained that the ministry aims to be 50% of the means of mobility by 2050, non -emissions.
In a session entitled “The Emirati Identity: National and Global Balance”, moderated by His Excellency Dr. Sultan Muhammad Al -Nuaimi, Director General of the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research, His Excellency Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defense, Foreign and Interior Affairs Committee in the Federal National Council, stressed the need to enhance common values That unites societies, such as justice, religion and heritage, stressing that it is the basis for building a coherent society.
His Excellency explained that some of the challenges facing societies may be the result of external agendas aimed at destabilizing … He said: “There is a need to enhance the role of national role models in shaping the Emirati identity.”
In the same session, His Excellency Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai, stressed that the Emirati national identity is the imprint of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God bless him, indicating the need to focus the curricula on the national identity and local culture And the history of the state, to develop the skills of critical thinking among young people, which enhances contributing to the elevation of the country.
His Excellency added that the national service contributed to the preparation of a generation that has responsibility towards his homeland, and is able to face challenges with an honest national spirit.
In a session entitled “Youth: Continuing Education and the Labor Market”, which was moderated by His Excellency Dr. Sultan Muhammad Al -Nuaimi, His Excellency Abdul Rahman Al -Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stressed that the basic responsibility of continuing learning falls on the individual himself, which is a must Establishing it from the early stages through the efforts of the family and the school.
His Excellency explained that higher education institutions must adopt a flexible approach to keeping pace with changes, noting that the labor market in the UAE has witnessed remarkable growth in the recent period thanks to government policies supporting the business environment.
His Excellency Dr. Sultan Al -Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, also spoke at the same session the importance of young people possessing three main qualities: digital skills, analytical capabilities and critical thinking, in addition to social skills such as emotional intelligence.
His Excellency stressed that one of the most prominent challenges facing new graduates is the availability of experience, noting that the employees should focus on personal skills instead of the number of years of experience.
In a session entitled “The Society of Society: Where are we now?” The fertility rate that leads to the aging of society.
He added that the UAE has applied many initiatives to confront this phenomenon, such as “Nafs”, “Medem”, and “The Union of the Wedding”, which aims to encourage young people to marry.

He also stressed the importance of the role of youth in achieving the future Emirates vision by involving them in strategic dialogues that contribute to formulating innovative solutions.
It is worth noting that the basic axes of the second version of the forum focused on three main issues: Emirati national identity, education, community development, artificial intelligence and future technology.
The forum witnessed the presence of more than 650 participants from officials, experts and specialists in various fields, and 45 Emirati speakers of academics, experts and specialists were hosted.
The sessions included many topics such as the Emirati family, social transformations, the role of youth in building the economy of artificial intelligence, and sustainable education in the future, and a set of recommendations were presented to meet challenges and turn them into opportunities to support sustainable development in the country.
