“Health” organizes the annual UAE for donation and organ transplantation

The Ministry of Health and Community Protection organized the annual Congress to donate and cultivate organs and human tissues from January 29 to 30 in Dubai under the slogan “Increasing the availability of moral access and supervising the cultivation of cells, tissues and human organs.”

This comes within the framework of government efforts to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation as a noble humanitarian action that reflects the values ​​of sustainability and enhances the achievement of the target of the quality of life index, which falls within the state’s directions to be a global model to be followed in the field of donation and cultivation of human organs.

The Ministry of Health and Community Protection, through Congress, aims to encourage the concept of organ donation during life or after death.

The importance of the conference in focusing on innovative solutions to improve the success rates of organ transplants and enhance their results among recipients by keeping pace with best practices in the field of donation and organ transplants in addition to exploring the main effective strategies to enhance donation rates and the results of their operations.

The axes of the sessions included discussing challenges and solutions in donating organs and cultivating them and employing artificial intelligence and modern technology in improving the results of organ transplantation and managing cases in addition to discussing moral and legal challenges and how to organize these practices in a way that guarantees justice and transparency, in addition to enhancing international cooperation through exchanging experiences and knowledge and building strategic partnerships that contribute In developing the field of organ transplantation at the global level.

Dr. Amin Al -Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary of the Health Organization Sector, said in the opening speech that the UAE under the guidance and support of its rational leadership and its ambitious vision has made qualitative pioneering achievements in the field of health care and the application of the latest global technologies and practices in the field of donation and organ transplantation.

Dr. Amin Al -Amiri praised the success of the UAE in achieving an average rate of 11.6 donors to the “deceased brain” organs for every million people, which is considered one of the best at the level of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries with an annual growth rate of 30 percent in the donation of organs and its cultivation, indicating that this puts the UAE In a candidate position to be a regional center for donation and organ transplants by enhancing the sustainability of this growth and applying comprehensive policies to cover health insurance, based on Article / 9 / with a decree of a federal law No. / 25 / of 2023 AD regarding donation and the cultivation of human organs and tissues, which indicates the compulsory inclusion of cultivation Members within the insurance document.

Dr. Ali Abdul Karim Al -Obaidli, Chairman of the National Committee for donation and the cultivation of organs and human tissues, explained that the Congress in its second edition came as a continuation of the success achieved by the first version.

He said that integrated efforts with health and academic authorities contributed to the consolidation of its position, as it has become a prominent station that brings together the leading minds of innovators in the field of organ donation and their cultivation to face challenges and work collectively to explore solutions that would positively reflect on the future of organ donation in a way that contributes to renewing hope in The souls of patients and their families, enhance the health and safety of society and the quality of the life of individuals.

The ministry recently revealed the UAE’s regionally superiority in the field of organ transplantation during the year 2024, when 352 members were planted, an increase of about 22 percent compared to the year 2023, so that the state becomes the highest rate of use for members in the region and the Gulf Cooperation Council states are at the forefront of the organ transplantation index with 956 members planted Since the start of the program in 2017.
