المملكة: To spread bird flu … a temporary ban on the import of poultry from Poland

The Food and Drug General Authority announced the imposition of a temporary ban on the import of poultry meat and table eggs and their products from Poland, after a report issued by the World Animal Health Organization “Woah” stating the outbreak of highly fierce bird flu in the province of “Lodzkie” in the Republic of Poland.
The authority explained that the decision came in the interest of food safety in the Kingdom, and after following international reports related to food safety in the countries of the world.
She emphasized that the ban is excluded from the ban on poultry meat, table eggs and their thermally treated products by the methods approved by the authority.

The authority indicated that this decision is part of precautionary measures taken by Saudi Arabia to protect consumers from the risk of food that is transmitted through food.
The authority called on citizens and residents to verify the source of poultry before purchase, and to inform the competent authorities in the event of any doubts about the safety of the products.
