The closing ceremony of the competition organized by the agency came under the auspices of the CEO of the Saudi Space Agency, Mohammed bin Saud Al -Tamimi, and the presence of Assistant Minister of Information Abdullah Al -Maghlouth, and a number of officials of the relevant authorities and astronomers.
The ceremony witnessed the honoring of the winners of the three tracks of the competition, which included “deep space”, “solar system” and “Saudi space”, where these paths were designed to suit both professionals, amateurs and beginners, with the aim of encouraging them to explore space through their lenses.
“Dimensions” competition
Within his speech at the ceremony, the CEO of the Saudi Space Agency confirmed that the “dimensions” competition was not merely a competition but rather a unique experience in which the science of art and technology with heritage, to tell a deep story about the human being linked to the sky and the earth, and to reflect the Saudi identity that has long looked towards the stars.
Al -Tamimi pointed out that the competition aimed, since its launch, to empower young people and motivate them to explore space from a new perspective that goes beyond the lenses to transfer the beauty of the universe, and documents amazing moments with its scientific, artistic, aesthetic and even cultural and tourism dimensions, noting that it shed light on the ancient Saudi heritage, and was brilliantly able to restore the astronomical status that She formed an authentic part of the identity of this land, whose ancestors have always been guided by stars in their travels, so that this link with the sky remains present in the depths of history.
Documenting the aesthetics of space
The astronaut and the supervisor of the competition, Ali Al -Qarni, expressed his pride in the success achieved by the competition that has proven to be an inspiring experience that brought together creativity and discovery, stressing that the participants showed exceptional levels in documenting the aesthetics of space Science and arts.
Since its inception, the competition has sought to empower young people in the field of astronomical observation and photography, and stimulate scientific creativity, allowing the participants to benefit from specialized workshops and exhibitions that strengthened their technical and technical capabilities, to a wide participation that culminated in the qualification of 30 creative works to the final qualifiers.

The Royal Commission for the Governorate of Al -Ula announced as a strategic partner in the competition, ensuring that it organized a distinctive exploratory trip for 18 qualified to visit Al -Ula Governorate, aiming, through this trip, to enhance the experience of the participants.
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Space Agency is working to launch qualitative initiatives aimed at supporting creativity in qualitative areas, including space and astronomy, and enhancing the Kingdom’s role in developing the space sector, in a way that keeps pace with its aspirations to become an important part of the global community in astronomy and space science and investing in the service of humanity, and achieving Sustainable development goals.
