Sharjah on February 6 / WAM / The activities of the 16th session of Sharjah Biennial, the prominent cultural event organized by the Sharjah Arts Foundation, started today with the participation of more than 200 artists from all over the world, where the Biennali displays more than 650 artworks in 17 varied sites along the Emirate of Sharjah , The cities of Hamriyah, Al -Dhaid and Kalba include, in addition to 200 new mandates that were specially developed for this session.

Sheikha Hor bint Sultan Al Qasimi expressed her happiness at the launch of this exceptional event, and said that this exceptional event is the 16th Sharjah Biennial, represents a comprehensive title of the five evaluations who worked with effort and perseverance to formulate a milestone that reflects a unique cultural and human diversity.

The five evaluations in the current session worked together to develop their artistic projects that reflect multiple visions and innovative concepts, where Alia Sawsitica highlights the interactions between strength, poetry and politics, focusing on feminist knowledge through future visions that include virtual technological interventions, while Amal Khalaf, highlights the narrators of songs and divination as rituals For collective learning and resistance in times of political and environmental crises.

In the same context, Megan Tamati-Qutull Merge poetic arts and cultural exchange, reviewing ideas about the land, instability and the future from the perspective of the indigenous population while Natasha Genwala focuses on coastal sites in the Indian Ocean and water wells in Sharjah, exploring the memories of the ancestors and the voice of the place, and questioning the collective memory Finally, Zainab Oz deals with social and economic systems, focusing on the impact of rapid changes that technology and science on our contemporary lives.

The Sharjah Biennial continues to review its creativity in various locations across the Emirate of Sharjah, including the Hamriyah area on the Arabian Gulf, and the Al Dhaid area in the central region, to the Kalba region of the Indian Ocean.
