Health insurance for tourism visas does not cover the reviews of the elderly and chronic diseases

The Emirates Insurance Union stated that the insurance that accompanies the tourism visa is dedicated to covering emergency cases only, whatever the age of the visitor, explaining that companies provide health insurance in its various coverage degrees to residents within the UAE, while visitors who come for a month or more, their insurance covers their exposure For urgent conditions according to the customary definition of emergency pathological condition.

This came, commenting on inquiries received by “Emirates Today” from residents related to the insurance coverage available to their relatives who entered the UAE with a tourist visa, especially the elderly, such as parents, and whether they can review hospitals within the country according to this insurance or not.

“The situation for visitors from the elderly does not differ from young people regarding insurance coverage, as all available to them is to secure emergency health cases only, regardless of whether these cases are chronic or not ».

He added that other health insurance coverage and benefits are devoted to residents within the state only, and not for visitors, since the visitor usually comes to spend a specific time and then leave.

He continued: «For example, if a person is a pressure sick, or diabetes, and the state comes to visit, then the periodic reviews of this type of diseases and others are not covered in securing the visit, but if this results The insurance company cost it.

It is noteworthy that the health insurance prices required for tourist visa starts from 50 dirhams, and it varies according to each company, and according to the period of the visit, whether it is a month, two months or three months.
