The Film Authority organizes a virtual workshop on the art of short filmmaking
The Film Authority is organizing a virtual workshop specializing in the manufacture of short films, from 16 to 18 February, with the aim of developing film makers skills and enabling them to provide distinguished works that reflect their cinematic identity.
The workshop lasts for three days, with the participation of 40 to 50 trainees.
The workshop will be presented in both Arabic and English, supervised by the director, producer and screenwriter Basil Khalil, who won several awards in the field of cinema.
Workshop axes
The workshop deals with several main axes, including scenarios analysis, identifying strengths in writing, and exploiting the prior assumptions of the audience. Participants will also learn visual narration techniques and apply creative ideas during the photography and editing stages.
In addition, the short film market will be explored, focusing on professional development opportunities, participating in cinematic festivals, shows and sales.
The most important expected outputs
It is expected that the workshop will achieve several educational outcomes, most notably enabling the participants to use short films as a means of creative expression, and developing the skills needed to produce distinguished cinematic works, in addition to enhancing the ability to represent self -representation and personal vision through cinematic work.
The body requires a good level in the English language to participate in the workshop, with the preference of applicants who have previously produced short films, or have experience in making films or media. The workshop is also an ideal opportunity for students specializing in the fields of cinema and media in universities.
