Exhibition opening "Pictures from old Wadi Al-Dawasir" Within the program activities "Kashta"

Governor Wadi Al-Dawasir In charge of Hamdan bin Faleh Al-Murshedi is the “Photos from the Old Wadi Al-Dawasir” exhibition, which was held within the activities of the “Kashta», which is organized by the municipality of Wadi al-Dawasir Governorate, in the presence of a number of officials, residents, and those interested in history and heritage.
During his tour in the exhibition, the governor viewed a group of rare photos that documented some of the buildings, streets, and squares of Wadi al-Dawasir Governorate in a past era that exceeded more than fifty years. These photos reflected the features of life at that time, construction methods, and prevailing architectural art, and The urban identity that distinguished the governorate and its centers, and the people are still proud of it and adhere to its values until today.
Al-Murshedi stressed the importance of holding such documentary exhibitions, because they represent the preservation of the historical memory of the governorate, the strengthening of national identity, and the linking of new generations to the past of their fathers and grandfathers, praising the efforts of the governorate municipality in organizing specific events that contribute to highlighting the cultural and historical heritage. For its part, the organizing committee explained that the exhibition aims to introduce the governorate’s urban and social history, highlight the transformations it has witnessed over the decades, in addition to enhancing awareness of the importance of preserving the architectural and human heritage, and motivating the community to pay attention to old photos and documents as important sources of local history.
