Two days after a landslide in southwestern China, 28 people were lost, Chinese Central Television said Monday morning.
The TV Authority said that a corpse had been recovered so far, and two people were injured during the incident that occurred in the village of Genbing near the city of Yabn, adding that low temperatures, bad weather and slippery roads hindered the work of the army rescuers, fire extinguishing teams and disaster.
The Salvation Sector said it was reported that the collapse spanned more than a kilometer, and it was a thickness ranging from 10 meters. Moreover, there is the risk of another landslide, as the rescue teams explained.
It is reported that yesterday afternoon, Saturday, blocs of the earth and the rubble separated from the foot of the mountain. The ground collapsing buried fields and 10 buildings. So far, rescuers moved 360 people from 95 homes to emergency shelter.
