Libyan Minister of Youth: Launching national programs to enhance competitiveness

Dubai, February 10 / WAM / His Excellency Fathallah Abdullatif Al -Zanny, Minister of Youth of the National Unity Government in Libya, announced the launch of new national programs aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of Libyan youth and their empowerment in various fields. This came in statements to the Emirates News Agency “WAM” during his participation in the preliminary day of the World Summit of Governments 2025, where His Excellency explained that the Libyan government, during the past four years, made an in -depth study to determine the priorities of young people, which resulted in the launch of several national programs aimed at enhancing competitiveness Young people and their involvement in implementing projects and initiatives that meet their aspirations. His Excellency pointed out that Libya paid unprecedented attention to youth, as for the first time a ministry concerned with youth affairs, in addition to the National Youth Council, was established, with the aim of enhancing communication and proximity to young people in various groups, especially in light of the challenges that Libyan youth faced for more than a decade of Time. His Excellency stressed that young people constitute a bridge towards the future, and that achieving development and stability can only take place through their empowerment and support. He pointed out that the Libyan government has made remarkable progress in the implementation of the government program directed to youth within the 2021-2024 plan, which includes several initiatives under the umbrella of “Hope for Youth”, which includes the axes of economic and social empowerment, and enhancing community participation at the national level. His Excellency added that Libya has become part of the global competitiveness index for hope among young people, which enhances its position at the international level and opens new horizons to benefit from regional and global experiences. In this context, he pointed out that Libya participated in the establishment of the global network to compete with the hope index for youth last year, along with 29 countries and international organization, including the United Nations and the League of Arab States. His Excellency revealed that Libya’s readiness to participate in the network meeting to be held later this year, with the aim of determining the competitiveness ladder at the international level, which will contribute to strengthening the role of youth globally and consolidating hope as a basic value in development.
