Ibn Touq: The food sector is a strong pillar for the growth of the national economy

Dubai, February 18/ WAM/ His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri, Minister of Economy, confirmed that the food sector is a strong pillar and an important engine for the growth of the national economy.

In his opening speech to the “Food500” summit, which was held on the sidelines of the “Gulfood” exhibition at the Dubai World Trade Center, it pointed to the great economic impact of the “Glevoud” exhibition, and the vital role that the UAE plays as a commercial gate linking East and West, noting that the food industry is And beverages are not only a pillar of the UAE economy, but rather a basic axis to support regional and global economies.

His Excellency explained that the “Glevoud” exhibition played over three decades, a major role in shaping global food trends, supporting commercial partnerships, and stimulating innovation, which strengthened the UAE’s position as a global food center.

He pointed out that food security, innovation, and the digital economy are very important contemporary issues, stressing that the UAE puts these challenges at the top of its priorities and said that the food sector is a strong pillar of the growth of the economy and attracting regional and global investments.

At the Dubai Chamber of Commerce Forum, within the activities of the exhibition, whose sessions were moderated by Salem Al Shamsi, Vice President of International Markets in the Chamber, the exchange of members and the concerned authorities visions on how to exploit events such as “Glevoud” to enhance innovation and economic growth.

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce provided its strategic vision and various services, Omar Khan, head of the Research and Data Department, indicated that the large investments in the food and beverage sector have witnessed in recent years.
