Sharjah hosts an international conference on "Quranic readings"

Sharjah, February 20/ WAM/ Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, His Excellency Jamal Al -Tarifi, President of Al Qasimia University, opened the international conference organized by the university entitled “Quranic readings between a talid past and a contemporary reality and a promising future.”
The conference will be held in cooperation with the Holy Quran Complex in Sharjah, Radio and the Holy Quran Channel in Sharjah, with the participation of more than 50 researchers and researchers from 35 scientific and educational institutions and a research center of 17 nationalities around the world.
The conference focuses on studying the efforts of readers of readers in advanced ages, and learn about their curricula in dealing with the terms of the science of readings.
It also deals with the reality of reading science in various universities and institutions, in addition to the role of digitization and artificial intelligence in developing the methods of teaching readings while preserving their authenticity.
The conference seeks to anticipate the future of Quranic readings and open cognitive integration channels with other sciences.
His Excellency Dr. Awad Al -Khalaf, Director of Al Qasimia University, appreciated in a speech to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for the Holy Qur’an and its sciences through the establishment of the Qasimiya University, which His Highness affirmed that its pillar is the Holy Quran and the Arabic language.
He pointed to the keenness of the Qasimiya University to achieve His Highness’s vision to make the Holy Qur’an in its middle curriculum calling for tolerance, coexistence and service of humanity as an essential part of its academic programs, by establishing the first college specialized in the Holy Quran and its sciences in the UAE.
For his part, Dr. Abdel Karim Othman, Dean of the College of the Holy Quran and Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, stressed that the conference represents an opportunity to enhance scientific cooperation between institutions and universities working in the field of the Holy Quran and its readings, and contributes to enhancing the position of readings and strengthening its presence in the sober scientific research.
In turn, Dr. Muhammad bin Salem Al -Harthy from the University of Taibah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affirmed that the diversity of the participants in the conference reflects its position and its importance in supporting scientific research, valuing the scientific efforts of the participants in the service of the science of Quranic readings.
His Excellency Jamal Al -Tarifi and His Excellency Dr. Awad Al -Khalaf honored the participants in the conference, after which the exhibition accompanying the event was opened with the participation of many Quranic institutions from the Emirate of Sharjah and the state.
The conference sessions dealt with various topics, such as the history of Quranic readings and the study of their terms, the efforts of scholars in the readings, and the relationship of Quranic readings to other sciences, in addition to the reality of readings in the era of digitization.
The conference also included organizing specialized training workshops on smart applications and readings collection skills, as well as dialogue sessions and scientific lectures on the manifestations of miracles in Quranic readings.
