Emirates University .. a tripartite strategic partnership to enhance scientific research in the fields of agriculture

Al Ain February 20 / WAM / Emirates University announced a triple strategic partnership that brings the university to the Abu Dhabi Authority for Agriculture and Food Safety and Alternative National Service, with the aim of enhancing scientific research in the fields of agriculture, food security, food safety, and animal production, in the framework of supporting national sustainability goals And achieve food self -sufficiency by 2051.

His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Ali Al -Raisi, Acting Director of Emirates University, during a media briefing today in Al Ain, stressed that this partnership reflects the university’s commitment to develop scientific research and enhance cooperation with national institutions to support future strategies for food security, noting that the initiative provides an integrated research environment that allows students and recruits to develop Innovative solutions to agricultural and nutritional challenges, which contributes to achieving the state’s vision in food self -sufficiency.

For its part, Moza Suhail Al -Muhairi, Deputy Director General for Organizational and Administrative Affairs at the Abu Dhabi Authority for Agriculture and Food Safety, explained that this cooperation represents a qualitative step towards achieving integration between research and applied institutions, as the initiative contributes to developing sustainable solutions to the agriculture and food security sector, with a focus on The involvement of national competencies from university students and recruits.

She added that supporting scientific research and practical training is the key to achieving the sustainability of this vital sector.

During the briefing, the details of the initiative, which includes 40 student research projects, were reviewed, with the participation of 80 recruits from the alternative national service and 80 students from the Emirates University, under the supervision of the faculty members at the university. It continues until September 2025, with project outputs to be presented at the Emirates University in the presence of officials of the participating authorities.

Research revolves around improving agricultural techniques, enhancing animal production, developing innovative food security solutions, and supporting food safety in the country.

The mechanism for implementing projects was also announced in the colleges of the university, especially the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, the criteria for selecting participants, and a timetable that includes the various stages of work, in addition to clarifying the role that these projects will play in supporting national policies aimed at achieving food and environment.
