37.1 billion dirhams state hotel revenues within 10 months

The Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Emirates Tourism Council, Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri, affirmed that the tourism sector in the country continues to achieve positive results in light of the forward -looking vision of the wise leadership, indicating that the revenues of hotel establishments in the country amounted to January to October from 2024, about 37.1 billion Dirham, a 4% growth compared to the same period in 2023, while the rate of hotel occupancy during that period reached about 78%, with a growth rate It reached 2.7% compared to the same period in 2023.

He said that these indicators reflect the increasing growth of Emirati tourism in various activities and sectors, and support access to the targets of the national tourism strategy 2031, aimed at raising the contribution of the tourism sector to the state’s gross domestic product to 450 billion dirhams by the next decade, in line with the vision of «we UAE 2031 ».

Bin Touq expected that the tourism sector will witness further growth during the current year, in light of the innovative tourism projects taking place in the state, and the initiatives that they are working to implement.

This came during his presidency of the first meeting of the year 2025 of the Emirates Tourism Council, which includes in its membership the heads and managers of all local tourism bodies in the country, where the Council discussed the outputs of the fifth edition of the “The Most Beautiful Winter in the World” campaign and its vital role in enhancing the competitiveness of the UAE’s position as a leading global tourist destination, The Council also discussed a set of various tourism initiatives and projects that it seeks to implement during the current year, which is from It will enhance the growth of the tourism sector in the country.

Participants at the meeting reviewed the activities and marketing programs that will be worked on, in light of the selection of Al Ain as the capital of Gulf tourism for the year 2025, which aims to highlight the distinguished tourist attractions of the city, as well as encouraging intra -tourism between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

They discussed the latest developments in the major tourist paths project, where its first phase, which includes five tourist tracks across the seven emirates, has been completed, in order to enhance the various tourism experiences of visitors and residents in the country, especially environmental and cultural tourism, adventure tourism, festivals and events.

The Council discussed the UAE’s participation in events, conferences and meetings at the regional and international levels during the current year, and its role in enhancing the prospects for tourism cooperation with many countries and organizations worldwide, and exchange the best experiences and practices in this regard.
