The Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain participates in the (84) meeting of the Central Bank Governor Committee in the Cooperation Council states

Khaled Ibrahim Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, participated in the (84) meeting of the Central Banking Governors Committee in the Gulf Cooperation Council states and the nineteenth meeting of the Board of Directors of the Gulf Payments Company.
During the meeting, the mechanism of management, follow -up and evaluation of current and future initiatives was discussed within the plan to activate the joint Gulf action within the framework of the work of the Central Banking Governors Committee and ways to enhance international cooperation in the banking and financial sector.
The recommendations of the various technical committees, including the technical committee for payments systems in the countries of the Council and the Technical Committee, were discussed to supervise and control the banking system, in addition to reviewing the latest economic and monetary developments at the regional and international levels. The meeting dealt with the strengthening of cybersecurity and the role of central banks in providing the organizational, legislative and technical environment for advanced payments and financial technologies in a manner that ensures a balance between innovation and financial stability, and also touched on ways to enhance the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing.
The meeting comes within the framework of the periodic meetings of the Conservative Committee, which aims to enhance cooperation and coordination between the Gulf central banks, in a way that contributes to achieving financial and monetary stability and supporting the process of sustainable economic development in the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.
