Opening the door for participation in the fourth session of the award "Treasure generation"

Abu Dhabi, February 21 / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center announced today the opening of the application to participate in the fourth session of the “Treasure of the Generation” award, with the continuation of the nomination period until May 31.

Since its launch in the year 2021, the “treasure of the generation” has become one of the most important cultural stations that contribute to preserving and reviving the Arab cultural heritage, and celebrates its rich diversity.

His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, President of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, said that the award is inspired by its status from the unique cultural and literary heritage of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “May God rest his soul”, as it contributes to its originality and innovation in enriching the culture of belonging to the generations.

He stressed that the “Treasure of the Generation” award formed a milestone in the cultural movement at the level of the region, and attracts the productions of senior writers and creators, to contribute effectively to achieving the goals of the center in promoting the presence of the Arabic language, and supporting its tributaries of creativity, authorship and translation around the world.

He pointed out that the fourth session of the “Treasure of the Generation” award completed the great success achieved by the previous sessions, and it became an inspiring platform for honoring creative works, and restoring the position of popular poetry, arts and studies related to it in the march of the resumption of Arab civilization.

He added that with the start of a new stage of her career, the award is established in its place of a rich cultural platform that combines poetry and heritage, and our cultural heritage reflects and returns to mind the distinctive position of poetry in the manufacture of culture and knowledge in society.

The “Treasure of the Generation” award derives its tasks from the poems of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul”, which embodies the position of poetry a mirror of Arab and Emirati society, as it is also honored by distinguished poetic experiences in Nabati poetry, which is an essential part From the Arab conscience, in addition to publishing and introducing these works.

The award also seeks to consolidate the values ​​of poetry carried by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul”, with the aesthetics and noble human values, and highlighting its influence in Emirati and Arab culture.

It also contributes to protecting folklore and traditional arts by linking new generations to their culture and heritage, as well as interest in the arts related to Nabati poetry such as music, folk singing, plastic arts and Arabic calligraphy.

The “treasure of the generation” prize sets general conditions that the candidates and the participating work must be met, as the candidate must have contributed effectively to enriching the poetic, critical or artistic movement at the local and Arab levels, and that the nominated works are characterized by originality and innovation, so that it represents a real addition to culture and human knowledge .

The candidate is allowed to present only one work in one of the branches of the award during one session, and the same work cannot be presented for another award in the same year.

The conditions include that the nominated works are written in Arabic, with the exception of the “translation” and “studies and research” branches, where the translated works are accepted from Arabic to other languages ​​or studies written in other living languages, and the works must have been published in the past five years, and that It carries an international number of property rights.

Also among the conditions is that the works that have previously won major Arab or foreign prizes are not accepted, knowing that the copies submitted from books or artworks are not returned to their owners.

The award reserves the right to publish the works submitted after its studies and evaluate the possibilities of implementing this, and individuals and institutions can run in the art branch according to the type of art determined by the committee in each session, and in the event that the work does not win, it can be replaced by five years after the previous session.
