To qualify filmmakers … launch a “animation techniques and tools” workshop

The Film Authority continues its efforts to support and rehabilitate Saudi talents according to the highest international standards, by launching an intensive virtual workshop entitled “Animation techniques and tools”, which will be held during the period from April 29 to May 1, over a period of three days, with the participation of between 15 to 20 trainees, and in English.

The workshop aims to train ambitious filmmakers on the basic and advanced skills in the field of professional stirring, and to provide them with visual narrative tools, through a dynamic training program that provides basic principles and the latest technologies adopted in the major global animation studios.

The workshop is presented by Expert Stese Iberslag, who is one of the most prominent narrators of stories and directors in the field of animation, reviewing the participants in a variety of axes that include an introduction to the Harmouni program MOR.101-001, and to learn about the principle of moving and moving weight, in addition to the principle of exaggeration in moving the head and rotation, to merge all the principles of basic movement into an integrated scene.

Professional movements

The workshop is seeking to enable the trainees to use professional movements, learn the basic tools of the Toon Boom Harmony program, on which the largest global movement studios, as well as teach how to move the characters in an impressive way, and master the basic movement techniques such as compression, expansion, transfer of weight and tilt the head to create a vibrant realistic movement.
The trainees will also get to know the methods of synchronizing dialogue with the movement of personalities, and the production of a short animated scene, which gives them practical skills that qualify them to enter the labor market in the field of stirring.

List visual stories

The Film Authority stipulated the acceptance of the participants to provide a good level of English, without the need for previous experience in the field of animation, with the need for the participant to possess the elements of creativity and passion by telling visual stories, stressing the importance of talent and the ability to transfer ideas to innovative artwork.

This workshop comes within the series of training programs offered by the Film Authority, in an effort to manufacture a creative Saudi generation and is able to compete globally in the fields of cinema, movement and visual content industry.
