The start of the Emirates Wrestling Federation Cup in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, February 22/ WAM/ The second edition of the Emirates Wrestling Federation Cup, which will continue until tomorrow, also started in “Mubadala Arena” in Abu Dhabi, and about 400 players from 13 clubs and academies from inside and outside the country compete.

The opening ceremony and aspect of the championship activities were attended by His Excellency Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, President of the Emirates Wrestling Federation, Sheikh Hamdan bin Saeed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Secretary -General of the Federation, Dr. Ziyad Saleh, Saif Al -Rashdi, member of the Federation’s Board of Directors, Sultan Al Ketbi, CEO and member of the Federation’s Board of Directors And Engineer Mohammed Al -Awamleh, President of the Jordan Wrestling Federation.

On the first day, the under -15 category competitions, and a category under 10, will be held, while tomorrow, Sunday, the tournament will be completed by setting up the under -17 category competitions, and at the end of it, the general final arrangement of the tournament will be announced, after the results of the under -15 and 17 categories.

The winning team is designed specifically for this tournament, while a category under 10 years is considered an incentive, to motivate players from the buds category to learn the game skills and participate in the championship atmosphere.

On the other hand, the Emirates Wrestling Federation signed a memorandum of understanding with the Jordanian Wrestling Federation, to enhance joint efforts to develop the game, at various administrative, technical and arbitration levels.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed, Sultan Al -Ketbi, Executive Director and member of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Wrestling Federation, His Excellency Eng. Mohammed Al -Awamleh, President of the Jordan Wrestling Federation, in the presence of His Excellency Ghanem Al -Hajri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports, and Dr. Ziyad Saleh, member of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Wrestling Federation.
