The President of Serbia apologizes for describing a correspondent for government television as a foolish

On Monday, the President of Serbia Popul, Alexander Fuzic, apologized for describing a reporter on government television as “foolish” after her report on a huge anti -government protest during the weekend.
University students in Serbia are organizing protests at the country level since the collapse of an umbrella at a train station in November, which killed 15 people. Critics attributed the causes of the accident to government corruption.
The protests that are organized almost daily are attracting tens of thousands of people regularly, and the demonstrations were destroyed by President Fuzic’s grip on power, including control of the RTS government network as well as many pro -government media.
However, government television recently began broadcasting reports on the protests, which sparked criticism from Fuzic and other government officials.
In his statement today, Monday, Fuzic said that as a president, “I do not have the right to describe anyone as foolish and apologize,” but he questioned the professionalism and objectivity of the “RTS” correspondents and described them as “a shame for their profession” and confirmed that they are political activists.
Government television Foticic criticized his correspondence, saying in a statement, “No government official, regardless of the political option to which he belongs, has the right to talk about our colleagues in this humiliating way.”
