The President of the Gynecological Consulting Company in the Netherlands, the lecturer at the University of Liden, Richard Ghassi, confirmed that five countries overlooking the Indian and calm surroundings seek to develop a joint security system, aimed at maintaining maritime stability in this vital region.
Gissy, an expert in maritime security, said in an interview with the “Diploms” magazine, that the European Union is able to contribute to enhancing regional security, noting that the union and those five forces must strengthen economic partnerships.
Here are excerpts from the interview.
. What is the strategic orientation of Australia, India, South Africa and Vietnam towards strengthening the security system in the Indian and calm surroundings?
.. These countries are invested alongside Japan strongly to strengthen the regional security system in the area of the Indian and calm surrounding, but they deal with it in various ways, and Australia and Japan, as they are close to the United States, in addition to South Korea, see the escalation of China’s influence and its attempts to undermine the regional system led by Washington, is the greatest challenge to the stability of the region.
. Analyzing perceptions and preferences for these five countries over the role of the European Union in the regime of the Indian and calm surroundings.
The opinions on this issue are different, ranged from realism, ambition to excessive optimism. While Australia, Japan and South Korea are looking to enhance coordination with the European Union, it hopes that this will contribute to supporting the US -led security system.
. What are the most effective ways to make the European Union contribute to managing strategic competition between America and China, and enhances the system in the calm and Indian oceans?
There are two basic actions that the European Union can follow: The first is diplomatic and pluralistic engagement by supporting diplomatic dialogues that focus on respecting international law and enhancing the role of regional organizations, such as the Association of Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN), the African Union, and the “Brexes”, which calls for a comprehensive security framework.
The second is the unconventional security cooperation by strengthening bilateral and multiple security partnerships with the five countries in areas such as maritime security, climate adaptation, and cybersecurity.
. Given that the relationship via Atlantic is in bad condition, can you explain the strategies of those five forces to manage tension between the European Union and the United States?
.. These countries do not need direct intervention in this relationship, although they realize the importance of continuing partnership between the two parties, while Australia, Japan and South Korea retain strong security relations with Washington, they seek at the same time to expand its relations with the European Union, especially in the areas of regional stability, and for this the European Union is an important partner, even if its main role remains economically and diplomatically and not military.
. What is your assessment of the effectiveness of bilateral and multiple cooperation platforms for the European Union, and those five forces to deal with the multiple global system in an increasing way?
À to deal effectively with the increasingly multiple global system, the European Union and the Five Powers must adopt a hybrid style, and to enhance economic partnerships through bilateral agreements. About “Diploma”
