“Collected Goods” and large quantities limit the benefits of Ramadan offers

Consumers said that the marketing practices imposed by some of the sales outlets reduce the benefits of the Ramadan offers that they offer, pointing out that the offers of “collected goods” bouquets or large quantities are suitable for large families only.

They explained to «Emirates Today» that the acquisition of these practices on an extensive percentage of offers of a number of sales outlets, consumers are forced to accept the conditions for buying goods that exceed their actual needs to obtain discounts, calling on sales outlets to reduce these practices, and expand submitting direct discounts on individual goods, as well as sold in their traditional weights.

On the other hand, specialists in the retail sector said that these offers come within the policies of diversifying offers and marketing policies for sales outlets and supplied companies, pointing out that the markets are witnessing a great diversity in the offers offered, and consumers can choose between offers that are appropriate to their requirements.

In detail, consumer Mahmoud Thabet told «Emirates Today»: “Some sales outlets resort to marketing practices that reduce the benefits of their Ramadan offers, and make it useful within a limited scope.”

He added, “Some sales outlets offer a offer (buy three or more pieces) of some commodities to obtain disposable offers, which forced the consumer to buy quantities that exceed his needs, to obtain the stinging package.”

For his part, consumer Saeed Ammar said: “Ramadan offers in the sales outlets will be more useful for consumers, if they are free of some practices that impose conditions on consumers to take advantage of the cuts, such as offers that buy three or more products at low prices, or that offers are offered on the quantities of goods with large weights such as rice offers that include a bag of 10 kilograms or 20 kilograms, and at some ports 40 A kilogram. ”

In the same context, the consumer Badr Hamed said: “I found in the outlet of sale an offer on the rice, which is required to buy a five kilograms of a bag, to obtain another bag of the same weight, which exceeds my family’s actual needs.”

As for the consumer, Hani Abdul Rahman, he said that the requirement for purchasing a certain number of commodities or quantities with large weights to obtain discount offers reduces its benefits in some ports, pointing to an offer for a food oil that requires purchase of a three -liter weighing package, to obtain another package of the same size, or buy three oil packages of large sizes, to obtain the excessive offer, and confirmed that this is suitable for large families only, calling for the sales ports to reduce the need to reduce Those practices, and increase the shares of discounts that are offered to individual goods, and those sold with their usual natural weights.

In turn, the sales officer at the outlet, Mohamed Mansour, said that “the bouquets of the collected commodity bouquets or large quantities come within the policies of diversifying offers at the outlets, which include downloads in various forms.”

He added: “The consumer has the decision to buy from these offers, or go to the outlets that offer more suitable offers.”

For his part, the director of purchases in one of the retail chains, Daily Fishal, said that “the sales outlets offer these offers within the framework of their marketing policies, which depend on granting discounts more diverse on goods, and taking advantage of discounts in selling more commodities.”

As for the sales officer at another sale outlet, Ashwin Balker, he said that “the markets are witnessing a great diversity in the offers presented, and consumers can choose between offers that are appropriate for their requirements, especially since the offers are offered depending on the marketing policies of the outlets, and in coordination with the supply companies.”

Increased sales .. and stock drainage

“Some ports resort to marketing practices in offers, with the aim of increasing sales, and making larger quantities of products, whether through collected goods offers that impose the purchase of two or three or more products to obtain discounts, or buy in large quantities and weights.”

He added, “Ramadan is famous for the high consumer demand, and therefore is an opportunity for many ports to increase sales at greater rates through these subversive offers.”
