OPEC+raises production 547 thousand barrels per day in September

The OPEC+Group, which includes Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the Emirates, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and the Sultanate of Oman, announced its commitment to the stability of the petroleum market, in light of the basics of the positive market and the stable expectations of the global economy, pledging to amend production accordingly.
Today, Sunday, the Group countries decided to raise production by 547 thousand barrels per day in September 2025, compared to the level of production required in August 2025, which is equivalent to four monthly increases, in implementation of the additional volunteer amendments approved in April and November of 2023.
The eight member states of the “OPEC Plus” group were a meeting through visual communication today, Sunday, to review the developments of the petroleum market and its future prospects.

“In light of the future future prospects for the global economy and the foundations of the current positive market – as evidenced by a decrease – and based on what was agreed upon at the December 5, 2024 meeting, regarding the gradual and flexible restoration of voluntary production modifications of 2.2 million barrels per day from April 1, 2025, the participating countries decided to implement production amendment of 547 thousand barrels per day in the month of September 2025 AD compared to the level of production required in August 2025.
It is noteworthy that the gradual return of voluntary amendments can be temporarily stopped or modified, according to the market variables, which gives the group the necessary flexibility to support the stability of the market, and the eight members of the OPEC+Group mentioned that this measure will provide an opportunity for the participating countries to accelerate compensation efforts.
The eight countries also renewed their commitment to declaring cooperation, including the additional voluntary amendments agreed to monitor at the 53rd meeting of the Joint Ministerial Committee to monitor production held on April 3, 2024, and confirmed its intention to compensate for all excessive amounts of production since January 2024.
The eight countries will hold monthly meetings to follow up on market developments, the level of commitment, and implement compensation plans, provided that the next meeting will be held on September 7, 2025.
