Ramadan series faces accusations of racism and abuse of women!

The series “The Works of Apartment”, which is currently being shown in the Ramadan 2025 race, sparked widespread controversy on the social media after accusing him of distorting the image of the Egyptian woman and promoting the moral deviation, in addition to racism and bullying due to the presentation of a Nigerian maid character described as “insulting”.

The controversy was not limited to the pioneers of social networking sites, but rather reached an official communication submitted to the National Council for Women, calling for taking quick and decisive measures against the series, accusing the work makers of devoting negative stereotypes about the owners of brown skin through the personality of the Nigerian maid “City” that the Sudanese actress Islam Mubarak embodied, through scenes of hill in food and excessive strength, which some considered an intentional abuse.

Lawyer Ayman Mahfouz also submitted an official communication to the National Council for Women in Egypt, accusing “very apartment works” of insulting the image of Egyptian women and promoting moral deviation.

He referred to one of the scenes in which a women’s figure appears that recognizes the establishment of several illegal relationships, to the extent that she no longer remembers their names, which led to the birth of an unknown child. Mahfouz emphasized that this scene establishes the idea that women have escaped punishment due to legal gaps, which will harm societal values.

These scenes angered the audience and the chests were divided between those who accused Mubarak of participating in promoting the racial discrimination of its scenes and those who defended it on the grounds that the role reflects the nature of the personality and not the color of her skin, stressing that these scenes fall within the comic context of the work and do not bear any discrimination or bullying.

It is noteworthy that the series “Ashghal Apartment” is written by Khaled and Sherine Diab, directed by Khaled Diab, starring Hisham Majid, Asma Jalal, Mustafa Gharib, Sherine and others. (she has)
