Cadillac joins Formula 1

The organizers of the Formula 1 Chamber of Motors and the International Motor Federation announced in a joint statement that Cadillac, backed by General Motors, joined the competition in 2026 to become team No. 11.

The statement said that the decision came after the completion of the necessary sports, technical and commercial assessments.

“As we said in November, the commitment of (General Motors) to present the Cadillac team to the competition was an important and positive sign of the development of our sport.”

He added, “I want to thank (General Motors) and (T Diphlo Ji Motorsports) for their constructive participation for months, and I look forward to welcoming the team in the competition starting from 2026, while it will be another exciting year for (Formula 1).”
