المملكة: “Islamic Cooperation” discusses the resumption of Syria’s membership during its meeting in Jeddah

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation held an exceptional meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers at its headquarters in Jeddah, to discuss the continuous Israeli occupation escalation against the Palestinian people, as well as the plans of the enmity and forced displacement.
The opening session witnessed prominent words for both the Secretary -General of the organization, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, the Minister of Foreign Relations Cameroonian Logan Mbila, the Prime Minister of the Foreign Minister, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Gambian Mamadu Tanjara, representative of the Islamic Summit, in addition to the Prime Minister of Palestine and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Muhammad Mustafa.

Supporting the reconstruction of Gaza

During his speech, the Secretary -General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation stressed the importance of supporting the Gaza Strip’s reconstruction plan, which was approved by the Arab Summit, stressing the need to mobilize political and financial support to implement it within the framework of the two -state solution.

He also warned of Israel’s attempts to liquidate the issue of the Palestinian refugees, stressing the importance of continuing the work of the Relief and Works Agency for the Palestinian Refugees «UNRWA) and not to prejudice its vital role.
The Secretary -General pointed to the daily crimes of the Israeli occupation, including settlement, forced displacement, attempts to Judaize Jerusalem, the siege, and starvation, calling for a sustainable ceasefire, the withdrawal of the occupation forces, the delivery of humanitarian aid, and the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
He also stressed the need to enable the Palestinian government to take over its duties in all Palestinian territories, including the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza Strip.
On the other hand, the meeting welcomed the initiative to include a clause on Syria on the agenda, as the Secretary -General expressed his aspiration for what the Council will decide regarding the resumption of Syria’s membership in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
