Dubai, March 10/ WAM/ The delegation of the Knowledge Exchange Office in the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs of the UAE government, with ministers and officials in the Republic of Colombia, discussed the promotion of bilateral cooperation paths in modernizing government work, and areas of common concern, in a series of meetings and meetings during an official visit to Colombia, within the knowledge partnerships of the government of the Emirates with the governments of the countries of the South American continent and the world.
The visit came within the framework of the efforts of the governments of the two countries to enhance bilateral cooperation in the areas of modernization and the development of government administration, and with the aim of expanding the prospects of global partnerships and international cooperation in exchanging experiences and sharing the best experiences in developing government work, especially in the South American continent, which reflects positively on societies.
The delegation of the UAE government included His Excellency Abdullah Nasser Lootah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange, His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Colombia, and Manal bin Salem, Director of Government Cognitive Exchange Programs in the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs.
The delegation met Veronka Al -Kossir Garcia, the first lady of Colombia, and reviewed the chances of launching the initiative of 500,000 Colombian programmers, the role of such initiatives and their importance in bringing about positive change, development and government modernization, and encouraging innovation that contributes to the development of governments, empowering Colombian women and expanding modern knowledge in the digital field to keep pace with global trends and technological developments Fasting.
The delegation held a meeting with His Excellency Laura Sarabia Minister of Colombia, His Excellency Mauricio Lescano, Minister of Information and Communications Technology, His Excellency Paulo Alberto Molina Bolivar, Director of Public Service, and His Excellency Alexander Loyez Maya, Director of the National Planning Department, during which he discussed the enhancement of cooperation in the areas of partnership between the two governments.
His Excellency Abdullah Nasser Lootah emphasized that the UAE government believes in the importance of communication and coordination in accelerating the translation of strategic partnerships and their axes, and works through its programs to expand the horizons of cooperation, especially with the countries of the South American continent, with which they are related to distinguished positive relations, which reflect the common trends and visions aimed at building a better future for societies.
Abdullah Lootah said that the visit of Colombia provided an opportunity to communicate directly with officials in various fields, to advance the efforts of the two governments in achieving the aspirations and goals of the strategic partnership, and stressed the keenness of the two friendly countries to benefit from advanced experiences in government work, sustainable development that serves societies and makes people a focus for them.
The delegation met the employees of the “Colombia for Executive Leadership” program, which is supervised by experts and specialists from the UAE government, and aims to enable the associates with the best skills, and to build the capabilities of government leaders to improve the level of performance and enhance government administration, by developing their leadership and administrative skills, and exchanged with them talking about the role of advanced training programs in qualification and development in capabilities, and its impact on development The government, while the visit witnessed meetings with 32 government officials from Colombia, which dealt with various areas of cooperation and fruitful partnership between the two friendly countries.
It is noteworthy that the UAE and the Republic of Colombia launched a strategic partnership in government modernization in 2022, covering 9 axes of bilateral cooperation in government modernization, including; Government performance, government excellence, government services, government capacity building, civil service, competitiveness and statistics, energy, programming, and youth.
Since the launch of the partnership in the fields of government modernization, the governments of the two countries have managed to organize 90 workshops that covered more than 10 thousand working hours, and 686 trainees from the Colombia government cadres have benefited.
