The Makkah Al-Mukarramah region celebrates Green Saudi Arabia (March 27) launched a package of afforestation activities and awareness campaigns aimed at increasing vegetation cover and protecting the environment, within Vision 2030.

He said "Al Daghis": "Today also aims to raise Environmental awareness and encouraging the participation of all segments of society in achieving a more sustainable future."
He explained that the initiative, which stems from the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, seeks to place the Kingdom in a global leadership position in environmental work, stressing that “sustainability is no longer an option, but a necessity, and the Kingdom is moving with confident steps to be part of the global solution.”

He added: "The Saudi Green Initiative represents “a real turning point in man’s relationship with his environment,” noting that what is happening today “is not just afforestation projects, but rather a reshaping of the future of future generations.”
He added: "We don’t just plant trees, we plant a better quality of life, cleaner air, and more liveable cities. Our ambition is for every individual in the Makkah region to feel the impact of this initiative in his daily life, from the moment he leaves his home until he moves to greener cities and governorates.".
