Trump is called for a diving journey to see the “slow death” of the Palau Archipelago

The head of the Palau Islands, who is particularly exposed to the dangers of warming, called in an interview with Agence France -Presse on Wednesday, US President Donald Trump to accompany him on a diving trip to understand the “slow death” caused by climate change.

“I think it is good to go together on a journey of snorkeling and meditation,” said Suranjel Websi, the son.

He added, “The cost of inaction about climate change will be worse … We have to look at this from this perspective,” expressing hope to “be able to speak with President Trump on the financial aspect.”

The Palau archipelago in the east of the Philippines includes about 340 islands, and it is severely exposed to the rise in the water level, while Wi -Pipes acknowledged that some of his country’s coral islands may be erased from existence in the coming years.

But he warned that “the threat affects us all,” calling on Trump to “think about his children and grandchildren.”

Trump has previously described climate change as a deception, as well as Washington withdrew the Paris Climate Agreement for the second time, and ended the United States’ participation in the leading climate initiatives and research.

“It seems that everyone looks at their pockets, to their people, to what is best for them. But even the United States has a lot of low regions,” Weibes said.

This small country in the Milan region, which has a population of about 20,000, is a strong supporter of the United States in a region where China has made progress, but was also affected by Trump’s reduction in international aid, while suspending some ocean monitoring programs.

We Websi warned that the policy of retreat adopted by the United States warns that its influence against China is declining on the global scene.

“If Trump is concerned about leadership, then this is the field in which he will lose great influence,” Palau president told France Presse in Tokyo on the sidelines of the World Oceanic Summit.

“In fact, China is making more efforts to change climate these days, compared to what the United States is making,” he added.
