Intensive campaigns to monitor Dubai markets during Eid Al Fitr

The Consumer Protection Department at the Dubai Consumer Protection and Fair Trade Corporation, affiliated with the Dubai Economy and Tourism Department, is preparing to implement a comprehensive plan to monitor the emirate’s markets during the Eid Al -Fitr period, where field teams will monitor commitment to commodity and services prices in various markets, including free zones, through extensive campaigns with allocating a hotline to receive complaints.
“The campaigns will include all areas in Dubai, as they include various commercial markets, hotels, and sales outlets, including sweets and nuts markets, in addition to the markets of vegetables and fruits.”
He added, “We continue to follow the prices of markets during Eid Al -Fitr as we did in the blessed month of Ramadan, with a focus on the main sectors, including food sales outlets, as well as women’s and men’s clothing stores, and beauty salons,” noting that the inspection campaigns continue throughout the months of the year and are not limited to a specific period.
Moussa pointed out that the intense regulatory campaigns will in particular target the shops that witness an increase in sales, such as retail stores, as the market is expected to witness an increase in shopping movement during Eid Al -Fitr, pointing out that the inspection teams will verify the commitment to the price instructions prescribed by the stores and sales outlets.
To ensure the rights of consumers, Moussa said: “There will be a hotline dedicated to receiving complaints by residents and tourists on the number (600545555),” stressing the importance of consumers that consumers have a safe and comfortable shopping experience, calling for residents and tourists in the emirate to take advantage of various promotions, and enjoy entertainment activities during the Eid holiday.
Moussa indicated that the inspection tours may include cooperation with other parties to ensure that all laws are implemented uniformly and consistently through all institutions.
In the context of the administration’s keenness to educate consumers, Moussa provided important advice to ensure their rights during shopping, as he stressed the need to read the details of the product carefully, including purchases, replacement, cash recovery, warranty policy, and guarantees provided, and advised to keep bills and guarantee documents, for use in cases of return or demanding guarantee, as well as the importance of verifying prices The bill.
Moussa said: “We are keen to protect consumer rights, and to ensure a safe and comfortable shopping experience for all residents and visitors of Dubai, and we also encourage everyone to enjoy the atmosphere of the feast in Dubai.”
