Collaborate "Higher education" and"American Educational Nursing Program Accreditation Authority"

Abu Dhabi, March 24/ WAM/ The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, represented by the Academic Accreditation Commission, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Educational Nursing Programs Authority in the United States of America (ACEN), with the aim of enhancing joint cooperation towards enriching the quality of educational nursing programs, and raising the level of academic standards in higher education institutions in line with strategic directions to enhance the efficiency of the national health sector.

Dr. Amjad Mohamed Kandil, Acting Director of Academic Accreditation Commission, said that this cooperation confirms the Ministry’s commitment to continue to develop all aspects of the vocational education system, to graduate high -quality nursing competencies capable of meeting the health needs in the country and the world, pointing out that this memo contributes to ensuring the compatibility of academic nursing programs in the country with the requirements of international accreditation, in a way that establishes the state’s position as a leading center in the field of medical education on the field of medical education The level of the region.

He added that the Memorandum of Understanding contributes to enhancing the mechanisms of academic evaluation and research cooperation between educational institutions in the country and its international counterparts, which enhances the state’s position as a leading educational destination in health specialties, as it reflects the state’s keenness to achieve a qualitative shift in the higher education sector, in terms of providing various opportunities for students, teachers and academic institutions to benefit from the latest developments in curricula and teaching methods, in addition to enhancing cooperation with the leading international educational institutions in Various fields and disciplines.

The Memorandum of Understanding aims to enhance cooperation in the fields of developing quality guarantee policies and procedures for nursing programs in the UAE, in a way that enhances their credibility and international accreditation, and to organize joint academic reviews between the two sides in order to achieve the highest levels of quality in nursing education, in conjunction with the enabled higher education institutions to obtain international credits for nursing programs, in order to enhance the opportunities of their graduates to join the work market Locally and globally.

The memo also focuses on exchanging knowledge and experiences on the latest innovations in the field of education in nursing, and ensuring the integration of curricula with modern developments in medical practices.

Dr. Cathy Shapil, CEO of the Accreditation Committee for Nursing in the United States of America, expressed her happiness in cooperation with the Academic Accreditation Commission in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to review nursing education programs in the UAE and work to enrich and develop it, pointing out that the two sides are united by the joint commitment to the need to upgrade the quality of nursing education, expressing its confidence that this vital partnership will contribute to providing Many fruitful opportunities for both sides.

She added that the ACEN Educational Nursing Programs Accreditation Authority places its resources within the reach of students, teaching cadres and educational institutions in the UAE, expressing its aspiration to continue this cooperation to upgrade together the nursing profession around the world towards new horizons of quality and excellence.
