A strong earthquake that hits Myanmar and witnesses about the collapse of buildings in Mandalay
A strong earthquake struck in the middle of Myanmar today, Friday, which led, according to witnesses, the collapse of several buildings in Mandalay, the second largest city in the country.
The American Geological Survey reported that the earthquake force amounted to 7.7 degrees and was a depth of ten kilometers. It was followed by a strong shock.
The earthquake center was about 17.2 km from Mandalay, which has a population of about 1.5 million.
There has been no comment from the Myanmar authorities on the damage yet.
Publications on social media from Mandalay showed collapsed buildings and scattered debris in the city’s streets.

The buildings in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, were shaken about a thousand kilometers south, while hundreds of homes were rushed out of the homes amid a state of panic.
