The Secretary -General condemns an attack on the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in the Central African Republic

The attack on members of the United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic took place near Taban, in the Out Mbomo province, southeast of the country.

The peace keepers were doing a long -term patrol to protect civilians. A press release issued by a United Nations spokesman said that this unacceptable attack resulted in the killing of one of the UN peace memorization from Kenya.

In the statement, the Secretary -General Antonio Guterres offered his hot condolences to the soldier’s family and to the Kenya government and the people.
