21 people were killed in an illegal fireworks explosion in India

At least 21 people were killed and 5 others were injured on Tuesday, in an explosion in an illegal fireworks factory in India.

The explosion led to the scattering of body parts, stones and minerals to long distances from the industrial complex in Disa, Googa (northwest).

“A huge explosion occurred in the factory, which led to the collapse of the concrete ceiling,” said the state government spokesman Reichkech Batel, explaining that this factory operates without a license.
The authorities opened an investigation into the accident.

Last year, 11 people were killed in an explosion at a fireworks factory in the state of Maadi Pradesh.

In 2019, 18 people were killed in a similar accident in a factory in Batala, Punjab (North), while 10 others were killed in the same year in similar conditions in Baduhi in Utre Pradesh (north).
