Ukraine reveals new developments regarding the mineral agreement with America

Ukrainian Economy Minister Yulia Sfridinko said that Ukraine intends to send a team to Washington next week.
Kiev aims to start negotiations on a new draft of an agreement that would give the United States access to rare mineral resources in Ukraine.

The delegation is scheduled to include representatives of the ministries of economy, foreign affairs, justice and finance.
Long -term negotiations on an agreement on minerals have already tense relations between Kiev and Washington.

In February, the two parties were preparing to sign a framework agreement, but the plan stumbled after a controversial meeting in the Oval Office between US President Donald Trump and his deputy, JD Verse, on the one hand and Ukrainian President Voludimir Zellinski on the other hand.
After leaking the draft of the new agreement by some members of the Ukrainian parliament, opponents criticized her and promised her an attempt to strip Kiev from her control of its natural resources and infrastructure.

According to the leaked document, the new draft includes not only rare minerals, but also gas and oil.
However, Ukrainian officials adhered to caution in commenting on the contents of the draft, stressing that it currently reflects the position of only one party.
“What we have now is a document that reflects the position of the legal team of the US Treasury, and this is not the final version, not a common position,” said Sfiridinko.
