Zayed Humanitarian Work Day/"Emirates Red Crescent" It consolidates the values ​​of solidarity and giving globally

ABU DHABI, 8 March / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Hamdan Muslim Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, confirmed that the Authority represents the humanitarian arm of the UAE, and works to consolidate the humanitarian values ​​that the country follows in providing humanitarian and development aid around the world, based on the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and inspired by the humanitarian legacy established by the late founding leader Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan. Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him.

He said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the occasion of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, which falls on the 19th of Ramadan every year, that the initiatives of the Emirates Red Crescent embody the country’s approach to extending a helping hand to those in need around the world without discrimination, based on pure humanitarian principles that are not linked to political, religious or ethnic considerations, indicating that the Authority has become, thanks to this approach, one of the most prominent humanitarian organizations granting aid at the regional and international levels, with the support of wise leadership and the interaction of community members. And its institutions.

Al Mazrouei pointed out that strategic partnerships with private sector institutions and companies represent one of the most important factors for the success and spread of the Humanitarian Authority’s programs globally, thanks to the directives and follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Authority.

He added that the Emirati private sector plays a pivotal role in supporting the country’s humanitarian mission through its contributions to the programs and projects implemented by the Authority in the health, education and service fields, in a way that enhances the sustainability of humanitarian work and achieves a tangible development impact in the beneficiary communities.

He stressed that the Authority is constantly working to develop its tools and capabilities in the field of humanitarian response, by strengthening the logistical support system and rapid response to crises and disasters, in addition to providing a strategic stock of emergency aid that can be quickly moved to areas of need, as well as qualifying human cadres and trained volunteers to efficiently supervise the delivery of aid to those who need it, even in the most difficult circumstances.

For his part, His Excellency Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, confirmed that the Authority continues to implement broad humanitarian initiatives and programs inside and outside the country, from which about 218.5 thousand people benefited during the year 2025 inside the country, through various projects and humanitarian aid that included medical and educational aspects and other basic needs.

He pointed out in a statement to WAM that the number of beneficiaries of the Authority’s initiatives outside the country reached about 15.6 million people in dozens of countries around the world, through relief programs, humanitarian aid, and charitable and development projects, in addition to the initiatives of the Sheikha Fatima Fund for Refugee Women, the Ataya Project, Al Ghadeer Emirati Crafts, the Preservation of Grace Project, and the River of Life Fund.

He explained that the Authority is working to expand the scope of humanitarian and volunteer work in society by enhancing the social responsibility of individuals and institutions, attracting volunteers and supporting their capabilities, noting that the youth category represents a fundamental pillar in the process of volunteer work, and contributes an important role to achieving the Authority’s goals and creating a tangible humanitarian impact in society.

He added that the Authority develops its humanitarian plans and programs in accordance with developments in the field reality and the challenges posed by crises and disasters, with a focus on enhancing emergency response readiness, in addition to implementing sustainable development projects in the health, educational, social and environmental fields, which contributes to improving the quality of life of less fortunate communities around the world.
