المملكة: To avoid damage … “transport” warns against contracting with foreign trucks unlicensed internally

The Public Authority for Transportation of Commercial Facilities, factories and all dealers in the cargo transport sector warned, stressing the direct risks that may be caused to their goods in the event that foreign trucks are not contracted with non -licenses necessary to carry out transport operations within the Kingdom’s borders.

Endowing goods at risk

The authority stressed that the lack of adherence to the new systems exposes the goods transferred to a real risk represented in harm or delay, as a direct result of the possibility of reserving the violating trucks according to the land transport system on the new roads that came into effect recently.

Strict penalties for violators

This warning is based on the new land transport system issued by Royal Decree No. M/188 on 8/24/1446 AH.
Where the fourth article of the system obliged all the practitioners of land transport activities to obtain an official license before practicing the activity, while the twenty -second article imposed strict penalties on violators, including a financial fine that can reach a maximum of five million Saudi riyals, in addition to the possibility of applying other penalties stipulated in the system.
The danger of the situation is more evident in light of the provisions of Article Twenty -Seven of the system, which requires that trucks and vehicles that are seized due to their violation of the provisions of the system will be sold at the public auction.
Accordingly, the goods loaded on a non -licensed foreign truck operating inside the Kingdom are vulnerable not only to the delay resulting from the truck’s reservation, but also for possible damage during the reservation process or even the difficulty of its recovery before selling the truck. Therefore, the confirmation of the General Transport Authority, which was circulated through the Chambers of Commerce, came to the necessity of fully refraining from contracting with these violating trucks in order to protect the interests of goods and the smooth supply chains.
