Canada complains of America in front of “global trade” because of the fees on cars

Canada filed a complaint against the United States in front of the World Trade Organization for customs duties, which US President Donald Trump decided by 25% on imported cars and their components.
The organization said on Monday that Ottawa had requested consultations with the United States on the conflict, a step that usually precedes the start of arbitration procedures between the two parties to the conflict.
According to the rules of the World Trade Organization, the jury members will decide whether the American fees are justified.

World Trade Organization disorders

The Canadian move comes after the American customs duties entered by 25% on car imports on April 2.
However, the World Trade Organization is currently facing turmoil, as the United States has obstructed the appointment of new appeals judges for several years, which means that no decision can be taken if the countries appeal the provisions of the World Trade Organization.

The United States has also refrained from paying its contributions to the Geneva -based budget, amid rumors of the intention of the administration of US President Donald Trump to withdraw from it.

Trump refuses to decline

US President Donald Trump said that he will not back down from imposing comprehensive customs duties on imports from most countries of the world unless countries settle their trade with the United States.

Speaking to journalists on the US presidential plane, Trump said he did not want global markets to land, but at the same time he was not worried about extensive sales, adding: “Sometimes you have to take the medicine to treat something.”
