Trump freezes customs duties for 90 days … and raises the tariff on China to 125%

US President Donald Trump announced today, Wednesday, that it allowed a 90 -day temporary stop as part of his customs duties plan, but also raised the percentage of customs duties on China to 125 percent that applies immediately.
“Due to the lack of respect for China for global markets, it is raised, according to this customs tariff imposed on China from the United States of America to 125%, provided that its effect is applied immediately,” Trump said in a post on “Truth Social”.
He added, “At some point, we hope that in the near future, China will realize that the days of exploiting the United States and other countries are no longer acceptable.”
He continued: “On the other hand, and based on the fact that more than 75 countries have contacted the representatives of the United States, including the ministries of trade and treasury and the American Trade Representative Office, to negotiate a solution to the topics in discussion related to trade, commercial barriers, customs tariffs, currency manipulation and non -monetary tariffs, and that these countries did not, based on my strong proposal, respond in any way to the United States I authorized a temporary stop for 90 days, and a mutual tariff that is significantly reduced during this period, with a rate of 10%, provided that its effect will be applied immediately.
